David Kelly

Next Captain of the 1st Bearsden announced

David Kelly, currently the Officer in Charge of the Junior Section, has been confirmed as the next Captain of the Company and will be formally appointed when current Captain Alistair Burrow retires in August of this year. David has been both a boy and an officer at the 1st Bearsden and will bring a wealth of experience and vision to his new role.

Alistair became Captain in 2002 and under his tenure the Company has taken part in new and exciting activities and has been a visible presence in both the local and BB community, living up to the motto "The Adventure starts here!". With Alistair standing down as Captain and an officer in the Company, he has been nominated to serve as a Vice-President of the Boys' Brigade - a position that his vast level of BB experience and knowledge will be well suited for. Congratulations to both David and Alistair.

Congratulations to those Boys who achieved their Juniors Target Award, your first badge in the Juniors. Well Done... Boys have worked to attained credits in the sections of Body, Mind, Spirit, Community and Creativity within the Boys Brigade Juniors Award programme. Over the 3 years in Juniors, Boys will also work towards attaining their Bronze, Silver and Gold Badges.

Junior's First outing with Bugle Band

1st Bearsden Juniors take part in Battalion Parade

 

1st Bearsden (Juniors & Company Sections) recently joined the rest of the Battalion for our Annual Church Parade, this year to Cairns Church in Milngavie. Warmly welcomed by the congregation, all enjoyed the church service. The 1st Bearsden Boys involved in the Battalion Juniors Bible Knowledge competition were also awarded the winning trophy at the Service. Well Done Boys !!

This Church Parade also marked the first outing for Arran in the Bugle Band. Well Done Arran!! With other Juniors learning to play the Bugle on a Monday night, it won't be long before they wi
