Battalion Drill

The 1st Bearsden has a good record in the Battalion Drill competition as drill practice remains important in the annual programme. Drill is very much a team exercise and when done properly it can be impressive to watch and fun to take part in.

On the 5th February, 2010, the 1st Bearsden continued its longstanding success in the competition and lifted both the Taggart trophy and the Overtoun Shield, which are awarded to best drilled elementary squad (P7 or S1) and advanced squad (S2 or above) respectively. As a result of the win, it means that the 1st Bearsden has the privilege of supplying the colour party for the Battalion parade.
